The child and the plane

A scanned draft ; the ultimate picture has been given to its addressee before passing through my scanning machine.
The drawing has just been published in a calender which the afficionados will have to obtain from the association "Soleil d'Enfance pour une Enfance sans Cancer", who released it to raise some funding means for its operations along the cancer-ill chidren.


And since it is impossible nowadays to escape from advertisments everywhere...

The calender is on sale for 5 euros; I'll be glad to forward the demands from whom may be interested by it, who get known per E-mail.

As to my work, it is to be found on the page of January 2003. And the pages from February till December are also a must see, full of different styles.

The picture for itself shows basically a child and a biplane. The biplan should more or less look like a Potez comparable to the machines of the Aéropostale pilots who were based in South America under the direction of Saint-Exupéry.

The symbol of the Aéropostale is seeked here as a tribute to its pilots' heroism and to the fight against the elements they had to wage as soons as they considered flying across the Andes or astray through the night.

Actually a bit like those kids already having to live along with their tumors. This way, a hope message might be forwarded upon a poetic background so that it is also thought to something else than pains.
Some admiration is to be found too here to the work that aviation has done since the time of the pionneers till now : astonishing technical progress which make look normal today flights across the Atlantic, formerly so perillous, aboard such a jetliner like the one the child is playing with in front of the biplane.
